WHY DO I OPEN THIS BLOG?

Xem tiếng Việt

The memories about wars are invaluable, because people have paid the blood prices for those, even the existence of  any war has no excuse. I have never been a soldier and never believe in any reason to make a war. However, I love the war stories and respect the human virtues revealed under inhuman conditions. I do believe that our civilization have been saved by those human virtues, not by the ideological reasoning. That why we must be grateful to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in wars, whichever they were on.
The hatred and the ideological contrasts have faded away after many years. Perhaps, some people are interested in seeing the wars from both sides to understand how the participants felt and see toward the same event. Two weeks ago, I was honored to be invited by The Grey Tiger of the Colonial Route 4 Mr. Dang Van Viet to a party where he received a French friend, who also participated in the battles, where Mr Viet fought on the opposite front. Now they are friends, having dinner and dancing together. The life is beautiful in each second.
I would like to invite you, Vietnamese, American, French, Chinese and any other natives, whatever sides you were and still are on, to join the blog and share your views about what happened. Believe or not even the people on the same side in the wars still see those events differently. But all of us will share the same feeling about the virtues the mankind has shown in the wars and the same wish that the wars should not happen again.
For freer thinking and writing, please post your article in any language you feel most comfortable. I will try my best to put a short summary in English and/or Vietnamese. If a full translation is needed, please write to me, I will try to arrange it within my very limited time and resources.
Only one thing I need your understanding is that here we cannot afford to tolerate the personal attacks, propaganda pro or against any ideologies or religious beliefs and commercial advertisements. I know well that the boundaries are fuzzy but I am quite sure that you know how far you can go from these boundaries and some times you will need a reminder.
